FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can I come in any time between 10am and 2pm?
Yes you can, and you can stay for as long as you need to.
Is it confidential?
Yes, everyone signs a confidentiality statement so what is said in the Just Talk sessions, stays in the Just Talk sessions.
Is it just Group Sessions?
No, we also offer individual counselling sessions separate to the group. You don’t need to attend the drop in sessions to receive counselling. You may turn up at the drop in session day and have an assessment with a therapist confidentially so as to arrange to start having individual counselling with a Student Counsellor.
Is it just free?
Yes the Group Sessions are Free but there is a small donation fee of £5 which pays for the room hire to see a Student Counsellor on Placement with The Just Talk Campaign.
How experienced are the Student Counsellors?
All Students on placement are in their second year of their diploma or degree. All students are supported with monthly supervision provided by an experienced supervisor and are supported by the team at exploringU Counselling. A Qualified Counsellor will do an initial session with you to match you with a Student Counsellor. You can see a Student counsellor at our exploringU Centre for well being in Sudbury or you may see them at our Centre in Castle Hedingham.
Do I have to speak?
No, you can speak if you feel you are able to, if you don’t that’s completely fine, if you feel like the group environment is to much you can speak to someone alone.
Are you a registered charity?
Just Talk Campaign became a Registered Charity in October 2017. Charity Number 1175216.
Do you have to have a Mental Health Illness to come along?
No, anyone can come along, whether you struggle with mental health or not. Maybe someone you know is affected by Mental Health and you feel like you need more support, or perhaps you care for someone with Mental Health Difficulties. If you feel like you need to talk to someone or need some support please don’t hesitate to come along.
I am interested in helping Just Talk, is there a way I can help?
Of course, we always need volunteers, fundraisers and committee members. Please Contact Us with how you’d like to help (Fundraising, Volunteering etc) and we’ll get in touch.
